Both Consuls were assigned to Liguria (Liv. 42.10.10-12). Popillius supported the unjust acts of his brother (Cos. 173) against the Statelliates despite senatorial criticism and decrees (Liv. 42.10.10-12, 21.1-5, 22.1 and 5) and returned late to report on Liguria and hold{411} the elections (42.28.1-3).
