    • Livy (Per. 51) calls him a Legatus, while Appian simply states that he had command of the fleet. Appian's phrases however imply that he had some in{463}dependence of action and could be succeeded (Lib. 110, and 113), yet he went home at Scipio's command. As he became Consul in 145 his praetorship probably should be dated in 149. (Broughton MRR I)
