Cos. 139. The M. Popillius M. f. Laenas who was honored as a legatus by Magnesia on the Maeander (I. Magn. 114, no. 123) may be identified with the future consul of 139. His mission and his date remain uncertain, but he was with Metellus Macedonicus in Greece in 146 (MRR 1.468). (Broughton MRR III)
