LATI1628 Ti. (Latinius)? (6) Ti. f. Hor. Pandusa

Career

  • Praetor before 130 (Brennan 2000) Expand
    • Co-operated with Sempronius in his campaign against the Iapydes (App. Illyr. 10; cf. Gaebler, Ant. Münzkund. Maked. 6-8). (Broughton MRR I)
    • Münzer assumed that Pandusa assisted Sempronius Tuditanus, Cos. 129, against the Iapydes (App. Illyr. 10) as governor of Macedonia, but it is difficult to see what effective aid he could have given when no link had been established by land (Wilkes, Dalmatia 32-33), and he is not included in the recent list of governors of Macedonia by F. Papazoglou in ANRW 2.7.1, 1979, 308-312. See M. G. Morgan (Athenaeum 49, 1971, 298-299, and Philologus 117, 1973, 32) for considerations suggesting that Pandusa may have been given command in Cisalpine Gaul and Istria as praetor in 130, and was active there in 129 until Tuditanus, Cos. 129, came to take command. He may then have continued with him, perhaps as legate, until the submission of the Iapydes. (Broughton MRR III)
    • p. 739, footnote 122 (Brennan 2000)
