Menenius' praenomen in Livy is C., but in Diod., Cassiod., and Fest., it is T., while Dion. Hal. has Lucius. The form Sextius appears in Livy 3.32.5, but Sestius in 3.33.3 and 10, in Diod., Fast. Cap., and Festus. It is Siccius in Dion. Hal. In Fast. Cap. Sestius' cognomina appear as Capito V[aticanus], the latter word carefully erased, but the rest entire. Vaticanus appears in Chr. 354, but Capitolinus in Liv., Diod., Fast. Hyd., Chr. Pasc. and Fest. See Degrassi 93, who is inclined to accept Capito. Menenius' filiation (T. Menen[ius Agripp.] f., etc., Fast. Cap.), is indicated by the space on the stone. (Broughton MRR I)

The praenomen Titus in Diod. and the numeral II after Lanatusin Chr. 354 point to the Consul of 452, but L. is clear in the text tradition of Livy and Cassiod., and is accepted by Münzer (RE). Degrassi (95) identifies this Consul with that of 452, but if L. in Livy is correct he was a son of the Consul of 452 and a brother of that of 439. (Broughton MRR I)
