REMM1830 -. Remmius (1, 2)

Career

  • Aedilis c. 120 (Broughton MRR III) Expand
    • A colleague of Livius (Auct. Vir. Ill. 66.1-2), and possibly author of a law regarding calumnia (Cic. Rosc. Amer. 55; Schol. Gron. 309 Stangl). (Broughton MRR II)
    • Aedile ca. 120, or ca. 94. If he was a colleague of the elder M. Livius Drusus (17), Tr. pl. 122, whose aedileship is not attested, the date would be between 122 and 115. See Wiseman, NM 250, no. 356. Münzer holds that there is no need to doubt the notice that Remmius was a colleague of the younger Drusus in his aedileship, because the office, though mentioned in the Auct. Vir. Ill. 66.1, is not mentioned in the Elogium, since it could easily have been omitted in our single sixteenth-century copy of it (Mommsen, CIL 192).199) (Broughton MRR III)
