  • Proquaestor? 77 Hispania (Broughton MRR III) Expand
    • Quaestor under Sertorius, 79, and proq. ?8 to 77 or 76? See MRR 2.80, 87, and 94. If the battles at Lauro in which he and his troops took part and defeated Pompey's legate, D. Laelius, took place in 77, the notice in MRR 2.94 should be placed under 77, Promagistrates (see below, on D. Laelius no. 5; Sall. Hist. 2.31M, from Schol. Bob. on Cic. Flacc. 14, p. 98St). It was then in the winter of 77/76 that Sertorius placed him in command against Metellus in Baetica (Liv. 91, fr. 22W). Or has the scholiast confused him with Herennius? See below, on Q. Hirtuleius (4). (Broughton MRR III)
  • Proquaestor? 76 Hispania (Broughton MRR II) Expand
    • Served under Sertorius in Spain. His troops shared in the victory over Pompey's Legate Laelius at Lauro (Sall. Hist. 2.31 M), but he was himself defeated and put to flight by Metellus at Italica (Oros. 5.23.10; cf. Frontin. Sir. 2.1.2, and 3.5). See 78, and 77, Promagistrates. (Broughton MRR II)
