  • Legatus (Lieutenant) 73 Sicilia (Broughton MRR II) Expand
    • Legate under Lucullus in the war with Mithridates (OGIS 447; Ascon. 19 C), and a successful naval commander of the fleet of Lucullus in the Aegean and the Black Seas (App. Mith. 77; Memnon 41-43, and 48, in FGrH 3B.357-59, and 361; see above, Promagistrates, on Lucullus). (Broughton MRR II)
    • Legatus. With Verres in Sicily in 73 (Cic. Verr. 2.2.49), he remained with him, whether still a legate or not (see N. Marinone, AAT 100, 1965-1966, 219-252, esp. 241-246). He was a legatus in 71, and with Caesetius was in command of the fleet which captured (or found) the pirate ship (Cic. Verr. 2.5.63). See Wiseman, NM 263, no. 417. (Broughton MRR III)
