Pomp. 78.1 Septimius' position under Pompey in 67 was that of centurion (#; so also in Caes. BC 3.104.3, bello praedonum apud eum ordinem duxerat), and only later did he become tribunus militum (Caes. loc. cit.), his rank in 48 when he murdered Pompey.[191x] (Broughton MRR III)
