Villius Annalis who was proscribed and killed in 43 is termed # by Appian (BC 4.18), but Appian must mean a man of praetorian rank, since his son, who was cognizant to the proceeding, was old enough to be a candidate for the quaestorship and was designated an aedile as a reward for his part in the matter (cf.
