    • Cos. Suff. 45. Shackleton Bailey (CLF 2.434) suggests that he also had the agnomen Sanga (see Fam, 7.30.1; CLA 1.348; and cf. RE no. 143, and MRR 2.490). The connection of Q. Fabius Sanga with the Allobroges (Sall. Cat. 41.2-3) suggests that he was a descendant of Allobrogicus (110). Cos. 121. His praetorship is listed under 48 (MRR 2.273), the latest legal date. Caesar did advance some (e.g., M. Antonius and P. Cornelius Dolabella) to the consulship without holding the praetorship, but it would be strange after the distinction of Fabius' curule aedileship in 57 (MRR 2.201), if he had not reached the praetorship well before 48,, like several of his contemporaries.
