- Perhaps a Praetor in 44, since he is listed among those who considered the allotment of provinces in the Senate meeting on November 28 as null and void (Cic. Phil. 3.25). (Broughton MRR II)
- Pr. 44. In MRR 2.321, delete the word perhaps, as his claim is as good as that of the others in Cic. Phil. 3.25. Sumner notes that he may be a son of Lentulus Niger (234), candidate for the consulship of 58 (Cic. Vat. 25), in which case his filiation was probably L. f. L. n., or else a son of Lentulus Crus (218), consul 49, and his filiation would be L. f. P. n. The cognomen Cruscellio (Val. Max. 6.6.3; cf. Cruscello in the Chron. of 354 on the cos. suff. of 38 [MRR 2.390]), if it is his, would favor the latter view.
