  • Quaestor 61 urbanus, Rome (Broughton MRR II) Expand
    • Quaestor Urbanus (Cic. Flacc. 30). See 57, Tribunes of the Plebs. (Broughton MRR II)
    • Quaestor 61, Tr. pl. 57, Pr. 50. The name M. Curtius is clearly attested for the quaestor of 61 (Cic. Flacc. 30), and Cicero (P. red. in sen. 21, not 27) shows that the tr. pl. of 57 was named M. Curtius Peducaeanus. The praetor of 50 has the praenomen C. in the Mss of Cic. Fam. 13.59, ,but Munzer supposes it due to dittography and, with Shackleton Bailey (CLF 1.480), identifies him with the quaestor and the tribune. So also RS, CP; TJC. Moreover, as C. Titius Rufus (37) is addressed in 50 as praetor urbanus (Fam. 13.58) Curtius may reasonably be considered as praetor peregrinus (Shackleton Bailey, above). (Broughton MRR III)
  • Tribunus Plebis 57 (Broughton MRR II) Expand
    • Cic. P. Red. in Sen. 27; QF 1.4.3, reading Curtius for Curius. On the name, see Fam. 13.59; Münzer, RE; and Niccolini, FTP 299 and 302, who favors the form Curius. (Broughton MRR II)
