He is named in an unpublished inscription of Cos (noted in RE, above) as the man who cast the first vote in the assembly for measures favored by Mark Antony (cf. Fonteius, no. 20, above). Probably a senator, but the case of A. Gabinius Capito (CIL 1(2).2500; C. Nicolet et al., Insula sacra 53-56) shows that this does not prove it. He was important enough to be sent in 32 to urge Antony to make peace with Octavian (Plut. Ant. 59). (RS, MS-RP 1.282; LRT) See Wiseman, NM 233, no. 195.
