    • Cos. 271. Because the praenomen K(aeso) appears in later generations of the Quinctii Flaminini, Badian suggests that this consul was the father, not brother as stated in RE, of L. Quinctius (42), the Flamen Dialis from whom later Quinctii derived their cognomen (JRS 61, 1971, 102-111). See his reconstruction of the stemma of the family of T. Flamininus, Cos. 198, and his early career (op. cit.). Leg., envoy, 264. See MRR 1.203. Badian suggests that since the praenomen Kaeso does not appear among the Fabii after the fourth century, and the speakers in the Ineditum Vaticanum were prominent persons, the Kaeso mentioned there was the K.
